Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Aesthé handles data used by the Aesthé mobile app.

Last updated: August 2, 2026 Public browser version

Account data

Aesthé uses account information such as your email address, login method, and basic profile identifiers to authenticate you and connect your mobile app activity to your account.

Taste and interaction data

Aesthé stores app interactions such as likes, dislikes, saves, and your answers to the refinement questions so it can build your taste profile and improve recommendations.

This can include style, color, material, room-type, and confidence signals inferred from your behavior inside the app.

Product clicks are recorded separately, so Aesthé knows which items draw attention and can account for outgoing retailer links. They do not shape your taste profile. Clicking a product can be plain curiosity, such as checking a price or a second photo, so it is deliberately given no weight in your style identity.

Device and locale settings

Three small settings are stored on your account because features depend on them, and each one is worth naming rather than leaving under “device data”.

  • Shipping country. You choose this yourself when you sign up. It is never guessed from your network. Aesthé only shows you products that actually ship to your country, so this decides what you see. You can change it at any time in Settings.
  • Browser language. Read from your browser and refreshed each visit. It is used only to additionally allow storefronts in a language you can plausibly read.
  • Time zone. Read from your browser and refreshed each visit. Aesthé counts daily streaks by your local calendar day rather than by UTC, which without this would move the boundary into the middle of your evening.

Aesthé does not collect your location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers.

Notifications

If you turn on notifications, your browser creates a subscription and Aesthé stores it: an address your browser gives out for delivering messages, plus the two keys needed to encrypt them. It contains no personal details and Aesthé cannot read anything from your device with it.

Turning notifications off in the app removes the subscription. Deleting your account removes it too.

Analytics

Aesthé uses Umami to count how the app is used: page views and named events such as completing onboarding, a first swipe, saving a card, or clicking through to a shop. These record that something happened, not which room or product it was about.

Umami sets no cookies and does not build a cross-site profile of you. Analytics events are not connected to your account, and they are not used to personalize what you see — that comes from your taste data, which stays inside Aesthé.

Why Aesthé uses this data

To run the app, maintain your account, and personalize your room and product recommendations. Aesthé does not sell your data, does not share it for advertising, and shows no third-party ads.

Third-party services

These are the services that process data on Aesthé’s behalf. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • Supabase — authentication, the application database, and hosting of the room and product images. Your account and all data described above live here.
  • Render — hosting for the Aesthé server. Like any web host, it processes the network requests your app makes, including IP addresses.
  • Umami — the analytics described above.

Fonts and images are served by Aesthé itself, so simply opening the app or these pages does not contact anyone else.

Opening a retailer or affiliate link takes you to a third-party website with its own privacy practices. That is a site you have chosen to visit, and what happens there is between you and them.

How long data is kept

  • While your account exists. Your taste profile is worth something precisely because it accumulates, so Aesthé keeps it rather than expiring parts of it.
  • Accounts unused for 24 months are deleted automatically, along with all data described on this page. Signing in resets that clock; you do not have to do anything else.
  • Deleting your account removes everything within 24 hours. Sign-in access is revoked immediately.

Account deletion

You can delete your account from inside the Aesthé app, under Settings. It removes your sign-in and your app data: swipes, saves, moodboards, taste profile, refinement answers, and any notification subscription.

Sign-in stops working straight away. The rest is removed immediately in the ordinary case; if anything interrupts that, a daily job finishes it, so removal completes within 24 hours either way.

For public account-deletion guidance, see the Delete Account page.

Contact

If you need privacy-related help, use the guidance on the Support page or the in-app support and account controls when you are signed in.
